It’s been about a month since we last spoke so I wanted to reach out and first say Happy New Year! We’ve had quite a start to the year and it reminds me, once again, of how important it is for people to have a safe space for shared experiences that entertain and delight. Keep up the good work as you are likely impacting your community more than you know!
Thanks for the support on the survey. As promised, we picked 3 survey takers at random and Bo will reach out to award the $25 gift certificates. Congratulations Tyler, Gil, and Ali! I’ll share some feedback from the survey below.
What We Do
Running interactive games online is far harder than it should be. Hosts have to cobble together an array of tools to simulate experiences for their audiences that are far inferior to the real-world equivalent. We believe there is a better solution that needs to be built from the ground up. We’re creating an all-in-one tool where hosts can produce a branded, interactive game show allowing users to watch and play from self-formed parties.
Our lead engineer has officially joined the team!
We have consistently been running events on Luna Park with a variety of our Alpha Testers; it’s still a closed experience and we will continue to open it wider over time
Feedback from these events has been invaluable to our efforts to continue improving Luna Park
We have enhanced focus on bugs that have been affecting the experience and created some mechanisms that offer greater transparency and increase our ability to test and learn → we know what needs to be done and we’re working on it diligently
91% of the 55 survey respondents said they would try running a Video Game Show on Luna Park
Nearly all of our time and energy has been focused on stabilizing the product vs. interesting new features; this is the right prioritization but not nearly as fun to share with you
It’s become clear that Luna Park is missing a few features that are baseline requirements for a number of you to regularly use the product; we’re on it!
It’s been over a month since the team has been together and it’s far less satisfying than the time we spent in upstate NY; we hope to see each other soon
In the spirit of the commentary above I’m going to refrain from showing you shiny new objects. All of the energy and focus of this team is on optimizing the Luna Park experience for reliability, consistency, and quality. To do this, we are focused squarely on the audio / video experience and what it demands of your network and machine. Examples of our efforts in this include:
1. The introduction of a health check tool to monitor and test each individual machine
2. A toggle (just on our side) to test the quality and CPU demands of streaming at various bitrates
